What is a Rackstation? This term is a portmanteau of “rackmount workstation” that we use for workstation-class hardware installed in a rackmount chassis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today’s high-performance CPUs and GPUs are more power hungry than ever, resulting in increased noise and heat output. We have found that many users want to move that heavy processing power away from their desks, to help reduce workspace distractions and avoid the need for exotic electrical wiring, but still need it to be on-site for performance and security reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A natural solution for this is to relocate workstations and sometimes even consumer-class PCs into a server rack! Some tower cases can simply be laid on their side in a rack, but that is inefficient in terms of space and cooling. A much more elegant option is to install workstation components directly into a purpose-built rackmount chassis.
